This is a beautifully done Save the Date featuring calligraphy by May+Belle accompanied by a letterpress tag by Dependable Letterpress. The keys were sourced at a flea market in Paris. Simple and effective. Love it.

Koi Invitations

When this client emailed me, my response was “You had me at koi.” Kelly and Joseph liked the tattoo invitations that I can create, but they wanted a set that revolved around koi fish. Wouldn’t you say yes too?! I was so pleased with the results and this time, and I was able to use a gray as the stock color rather than white.

Mike Mates of Urban Influence has posted his wedding invitations on his Urban Influence blog and they are quite impressive. Using a typical theme, he and his team created a stationery set that sets the tone for his woodsy wedding.

I love that Design Army has recorded their behind-the-scenes moments for their work on Washingtonian Bride & Groom. Thankfully, I found a copy at Barnes & Noble and loved every single layout that they created. Amazing work.

Mums the Word

I just received my Paper Source catalog in the mail and this Mums Wreath Kit caught my eye, but for another purpose. These flowers would be great to use in a wedding for groomsmen, combine them to make a bride’s bouquet, or other decorations. I know you folks are crafty and could make it happen. Aren’t they great?! The talented Katie of Chelle Paperie has unofficially launched Petal and Print, a site that will combine two of her loves that include both paper goods and handmade flowers. I love the large flowers in place of a traditional bouquet, so pretty and bold!

Tease Your Guests!

While working with a great couple on their upcoming wedding stationery, they wanted to entice their guests with a unique save the date. The package featured a scroll with calligraphy that read “Eat this date, but please save ours”, and a date treat inside of a paper box with a custom insert to keep the two pieces separate.

The guests’ first impression was a small box wrapped with a decorative paper and label that helps set the tone for their wedding day. It gives the guests a taste of what’s to come and leaves them wanting more.
