TAYLOR gourmet deli
Today I just received my first issue of Dwell after re-subscribing. and one story (among many) that caught my eye was a story about two childhood friends who grew up in the Philadelphia area and moved to D.C. to open up a deli. They are not designers, but they have designer’s eyes. Together they created Taylor Gourmet Deli, a hoagie shop featuring an industrial style with chain link fencing, skid pallets, exposed brick, and a roll-up aluminum... Read More

Letters & Ligatures and News
I made myself drive to the Letters & Ligatures show in Philadelphia, and not because I didn’t want to go but because I hate going out at all really. But this show was worth facing the public and weaving through a crowd to see the perfectly cut letterforms and bright colors exhibited by House Industries at the 222 Gallery. News And the NEWS. I am officially freelancing FULL Time. So if you are in need of design work or know of someone... Read More
Letters & Ligatures TONIGHT
Tonight is the opening reception for Letters & Ligatures in Philadelphia at the 222 Gallery. Are you going? I am. I don’t venture out much so if you want to meet me now would be the time! Visual nomenclature fuels language, facilitates communication and forms the basis of a civilized society. Without standardized lexigraphy, we could not create the essence of truth, allowing history to pass on the tongues of those who change it to suit... Read More
Will Hoge
He’s coming to Philadephia at the end of this month and I just purchased his new album Draw the Curtains. I don’t know why but he puts me in a mood, I don’t know how to explain it really. Will Hoge’s new music has a touch more Bluegrass than his album Again Somewhere Tomorrow which had a bit more of a Southern Rock sound but it doesn’t matter which genre he falls into, I love his voice. I first discovered him on Virb... Read More

So – my son woke me up at 6:30am – to ask me if we were going camping. I replied “no, not today”. Last night we visited friends and family who were camping and it’s prepared him for the official camping season, unfortunately our first trip isn’t for four weeks. I am now prepared to be asked when we are going camping 4 million times until then. I’d rather be camping anyway. But, the good news is I decided to pop on... Read More

Spool
Are you crafty, can you sew? I for one probably could but just choose not to. My mom on the other hand is amazing at sewing anything you can throw at her. Located at 1912 South Street in Philadelphia, learn more by visiting the website. Read More

Cheesesteak on the Brain
Yesterday the family and I went to Adventure Aquarium in Camden and while down that way decided to pick up some good eats at Geno’s. Yum! Wogies Jason Santa Maria (a grad from KU) has a great post on finding the closest thing to a Philly cheesteak in New York City. When you come from Philadelphia it tends to creep up on you how much you miss the good food (cheesesteaks, Tastykakes, etc.) that are regional items. Jason formed a Cheesteak Crawl... Read More
