Ned Wright

Thanks to FFFFOUND!, I found the work of Ned Wright. A designer hailing from the midwest with an outstanding portofolio, my only complaint…I want to see more! Above is a specimen using his Union Made typeface and although I’m not exactly sure, according to his blog his fonts may soon be available through LTR/LTD. Above is work for Legacy Chocolate, another custom typeface I assume? And below is a wedding invitation he created for friends,... Read More

Est

This packaging is just gorgeous and thanks to Daily Candy for their consistent emails or else I may have never known about this product. Est is an environmentally-friendly natural soap made in Brazil and are known for their ultra-hydrating effects that leave your skin touchably soft. Can anyone give me a hint as to who designed the packaging? Anyone? Was it an in-house job? Google was no help in finding any information on the designer responsible... Read More

Louise Fili

My inspiration for today is the amazing Louise Fili. She is the owner of Lousie Fili Ltd., a design studio that specializes in logos, packaging, restaurant, type, book and book jacket design. Lousie was a senior designer for Herb Lubalin for two years during the late 70′s, an art director of Pantheon Books from 1978 to 1989 and has received much recognition for the designs created. She has been an author and co-author on several books, one... Read More

Student Game

This is an amazing re-design of a family-favorite, Monopoly. The redesign was created by Andy Mangold, a sophomore studying Graphic Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art. I would immediately grab one of these off of the shelves at any store. The new shape refreshes the box to start (how would this size work on store shelves?) and the band adds a spark of color to the simple color scheme. Inside, Andy created compartmentalized boxes for... Read More

Wine for Wednesday

msv I love the identity and packaging for Martha Stewart Vintage wine. I first saw this while searching on her website for craft items but this was well worth it! Merlot Chardonnay Cabernet Although I can’t say I love how the V is shoved in between the M and the S, but it it works in the end. I’m going to see if I can buy it at my local wine & spirits store to get a closer look at those labels!  Read More

Vintage Labels

Veuve Clicquot Over at NotCot.org, there’s a nice article showing some labels from Veuve Clicquot in Reims. The most interesting part of their tour was viewing the evolution of the wine labels. Does anyone know what typeface those numbers are on the spines? Gorgeous! Veuve Clicquot Visit NotCot.org for the full story and more images!  Read More
