Florence + The Machine

While I hate people who post videos all of the time, and this is the second one for today – I just can’t help myself. Florence + The Machine has been my favorite artist to listen to (since discovering her on the Eclipse soundtrack for Twilight) and I’m officially won over by her voice and lyrics. “I want my music to sound like throwing yourself out of a tree, or off a tall building, or as if you’re being sucked down into the ocean... Read More

Piano

Confession: I wish I could play piano and I love music that is all or contains piano. It makes my heart flutter! I tried to teach myself how to play when I was around 10 or 11, but I only played by ear…no sheet music. I don’t understand a single thing on sheet music. But I loved playing and still love listening. Here are a few favorites of mine for you to listen: Fiona Apple, Sullen Girl Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above)... Read More

Gig Posters

I’m not a huge collector of posters (in fact I don’t think I own a single one) but I am a huge admirer of the art created for posters and particularly the rock genre. So I am more than happy to promote the book Gig Posters by Clay Hayes featuring “101 perforated and ready-to-hang posters along with hundreds of other poster images and designer biographies.” Can it get any better … I think not. Above are some images... Read More

Will Hoge

He’s coming to Philadephia at the end of this month and I just purchased his new album Draw the Curtains. I don’t know why but he puts me in a mood, I don’t know how to explain it really. Will Hoge’s new music has a touch more Bluegrass than his album Again Somewhere Tomorrow which had a bit more of a Southern Rock sound but it doesn’t matter which genre he falls into, I love his voice. I first discovered him on Virb... Read More

Music to work

So how do you work? Do you listen to music or do you have the tv on … complete silence? Never. I’m one of those folks who likes music. I almost have a schedule during the day and here it is: From 9am – 11am: I listen to the Howard Stern show. From 11am – 12pm: I listen to either Cosmo Radio, Foxxhole or music. From 1pm – 5pm: I listen to a variety of music on my iTunes or continue to listen to Sirius. I don’t know why it is that... Read More
