Against the Brief

Marian Bantjes and Pentagram were asked to redesign the Strathmore thistle mark. But Marian went against the creative brief, didn’t adhere to Michael Bierut’s direction and created a beautiful new mark that brings old into the new. Al Capone

Nice logo for a not so nice man. The Al Capone design is by  norwegian-based Stationery System and have created a simple and beautiful logo with minor customization of type, the bullet, and fragments. I’m a bit confused as two why it’s being used on a boat but because it’s so fantastic, I don’t care. They could put it on a trash can and I would still love it. Al Capone  Read More
