Loving the illustrative work of Lucia Gaggiotti! The italian-born designer/illustrator moved to London in 2005 where she continues her amazing work in the freelance sphere.

Wow-ee! I love when a well executed identity is completed. Construct London, has redesigned the identity for the world famous Claridge’s Hotel. The identity was inspired by “Art Deco and directed with OCD attention to detail”.

I love link hopping. I don’t know what you officially call it, but when you visit a site and click on a new link, then on that site you see another cool link and click on it. It can go on and on. Thanks to my obsessed link hopping I discovered We Made This, a graphic design studio based in London that focuses on print with some lovely work and a blog filled with eye candy!

The Make Lounge is located in London and I really wish there were locations like this in my area. The mission of The Make Lounge is to offer contemporary craft workshops with a stylish, social twist. How cool does that sound? I bet each workshop is inspiring and fun, being able to work with like-minded artists or craftspersons in a relaxed environment can result in many things. New friends, collaborations, new business … who knows!

I love these typographic posters designed by various designers for a collaborative project. They were given the brief of celebrating London by producing a two-color poster, they are all available to purchase on the Blanka website.

Root is a design agency based in London who specialize in art direction, design, advertising and film for a nice variety of clients. Their work for Massive immediately caught my eye and is what initially brought me to the site. But once I look around a bit more, I knew there was more to be seen.

Combine illustration and type and you’ll get the work of Craig Ward. He resides in London and spends his time creating outstanding typography and designs at Chi & Partners and through his own Freelance opportunities. His website Words Are Pictures showcases his commissioned and self-initiated work mostly in the editorial and publishing fields. He’s received accolades from the likes of the ADC Young Guns and his work appears in many books and magazines from all around the world.

His work displays his knowledge of type and how to combine letterforms with illustration. I was really impressed with is work for the Art Director’s Club, Germany with the Ace of Spades (shown below), a set of playing cards by Sushi 9. Yummy!

Design Auction St. Bride is an auction featuring reknowned designers and artists to benefit the St. Bride library in London. Scheduled to take place on March 19 (my sister’s birthday!) at 5pm and the includes works by Paula Scher, Studio 8, Magma, johnson banks and more. The auction is being conducted by Lincoln School of Art & Design (they have a great logo, by the way; see below) and half of the proceeds from the auction will go to the St. Bride library which depends on donations to provide the community with lectures, performances, lessons and  activities. The site is still being updated as the pull it all together, but check back for more!

Studio Ten and a Half has quite the impressive portfolio with strong graphic designs using type and color. It is a london-based studio started by two designers who met while working at Pentagram London, who further on down the line began this new studio with strong work as the foundation. The studio is run by it’s founders, Jessie Earle and Charlotte Bolton
