Letterhead Fonts is one of my favorite type foundries and it has just released it’s newest typeface, Shocard Rodeo. Designed by Charles Borges’, the new font features different sized letters for uppercase and lowercase and includes over 20 bonus alternates!

Letterhead Fonts, an invaluable resource for hand-styled sign lettering has some wonderful new fonts. And one of those is Hastings Gold by John Studden. Inspired by packaging from the 1800′s of Hastings & Co, a gold leaf manufacturer. It amazes me how talented typeface developers can be, they are able to develop an entire font out of one line…Unbelievable!

It’s a shame that I could not locate any information or history about the Philadelphia company, but the font is beautiful and a major accomplishment for John who says the following:

When asked what his favorite type of work is, he predictably replies “I enjoy the old period style gold leaf work the most. Sometimes I feel like I was born a hundred years too late.”
