I really get way too excited when I stumble upon a designer/illustrator from my home state. Pennsylvania is the place to be, and Lydia Nichols‘ work is just fantastic. Originally from Pennsylvania, Lydia now lives in New York but continues to infuse her work with inspiration from her home state. I especially love the Pennsylvania Wedding invitation she created, at bottom.

Paper Tattoos

I’ve posted about his work before, but this is completely new. Jacob Dahlstrup Jensen is now tattooing paper. The technique gives the appearance of an embroidered look, don’t you think? And it seems I’m not the only one mesmerized by tattoo art! And Jacob, if you read this – I would love to see you do a ship or ocean themed tattoo on paper. Just a small request.

I am completely and utterly inspired by the work of Keegan Meegan. It’s been a short five months since I last visited the site, but man-oh-man is it chock-full of goodness! From hand-lettered packaging for handmade tattoo guns, to Save the Dates featuring an anchor design, to an amazingly beautiful letterpress birth announcement. What a talent, seriously.

Wow, I’ve been truly admiring stop-motion and video work and have never really tried my hand at it. I am in awe of the work of UnitedFakes.

And not only do they show the finished pieces, they also show the “making of” in several of their projects. I really admire there use of not your everyday materials and willingness to play and experiment.
