S.A.S.E. Club
This little illustration is too cute, but what really struck me was that Invisible Creature is having fun with some old fashioned participation using snail mail. Why? Because we all like to receive good ol’ mail. So all you have to do is send them a self-addressed stamped envelope (decorated in some way) and they’ll fill it with goodies. I’m already planning mine out, oh, and you only have until September 1 and you have to get creative... Read More
J. Panter Calligraphy
I love that calligraphy is so expressive and is reaching outside of the usual straight line addressing on envelopes. Calligraphy can be fun, and J. Panter Calligraphy has some truly inspirational examples. (I secretly wish I could do calligraphy) 0 Read More

Sockeye
I’ve seen their work before but I have to admit, this is the first time I’ve seen their website. And boy am I glad I did. They have a lot of nice work. Sockeye Creative is a creative company stationed in Portland, Oregon and their breadth of work is broad and wide. I particularly like their Identity work and can’t help but like the Print section too. And the posters for the Portland Opera … wow! They just tickle my fancy... Read More
Studio of Cardboard
Nothing is made mostly of cardboard. What is Nothing? It’s a newly formed cretaive agency in Amsterdam that had their studio structure made from cardboard. The space was created by the designers Alrik Koudenburg and Joost van Bleiswijk who created walls, signage, beams, tables, shelving and even a set of stairs out of cardboard. Right now the structures are fairly plain except for the illustration work of Fiodor Sumkin. This was encouraged... Read More
First-Round Fridays
I’ve decided to travel back a bit and dig up some old comps, sketches or whatever I might be able to find lying around. This week, it’s initial drawings that were created for a logo project. The project? An Alaskan maritime center start-up needed a logo with the intent of being a catchall of commercial fishing archives and information on commercial fisheries in Prince William Sound, Alaska. The input? Rugged, rustic commercial fishing,... Read More

Hesse
Really nice work from Hesse Design, a German design duo consisting of Christine Hesse and Prof. Klause Hesse. A very impressive portfolio that makes me want to move to Germany and beat down their doors for a job. This work for the ADC Creative Report 2008 is just flat-out beautiful! And these spreads located here and here are just so simple and oustanding! Take some time out of your busy day and look at some great design. 0 Read More
