Sugar•Paper

Thanks to @simplepretty on Twitter I fell in love with the Gold Label Recipe Box, at $96 it would make a great gift. (hint, hint) I also adore many of their stationery pieces, some of my favorites are below.

Delicia by Avant

I love the work proposed by avant for Delicia, a Latin Deli Store. The identity and the screenprinted packaging, delicioso! Avant is a multidisciplinary design studio out of Buenos Aires. Thanks to Ellie from the Mint design blog where I first seen this work.

REfound

I’ve had REfound in my bookmarks for a long time and always check back from time to time, but I thought I’d show you some of their products that I love. It just happens to be another UK store, but I can’t resist! Why do all of the UK stores have so many great products!

Fun with Tape

I’m not exactly sure what I want to do with these but I’ll definitely have fun wrapping gifts and slapping stickers on various envelopes when mailing out. I love when a package arrives and it’s filled with fun items such as these. From the oddly but lovely American Science & Surplus site. And a totally unrelated photo of my silly cat – Miss Kitty – yawning from her hard day of napping.

Custom Postage with iPhoto

Ever wanted to customize your postage? Or perhaps for a project that you’re working on. I have looked into several places who offer custom postage but the cost just wasn’t worth the effect. Well, I just discovered a nice app called PictureItPostage by Endicia which allows you to use your iPhoto to create custom stamps without dealing with the third-party online vendor. They also offer Picture It Postage for businesses! I love when I find new things and this just makes my day! It’s free to download and costs vary depending upon quantity and mailing rates.

Ned Wright

Thanks to FFFFOUND!, I found the work of Ned Wright. A designer hailing from the midwest with an outstanding portofolio, my only complaint…I want to see more! Above is a specimen using his Union Made typeface and although I’m not exactly sure, according to his blog his fonts may soon be available through LTR/LTD. Above is work for Legacy Chocolate, another custom typeface I assume? And below is a wedding invitation he created for friends, I love his combination of illustration with thin fonts. And below is a typeface to be released through LTR/LTD called Venison Slab. Looks promising!

The Art Direction of Anchalee

I’m a new fan of Anchalee Chambundabongse, an Art Director/Graphic Designer and what a portfolio to wow me on a Wednesday morning. Currently Anchalee is an instructor at Pratt Institute in New York City but has an impressive resume displaying BBDO, Fallon Worldwide and few others. The work includes excellent type skills, typography and use of color. To view more of Anchalee’s work, visit the online portfolio and try not to let your jaw drop too much.

LHF Hastings Gold

Letterhead Fonts, an invaluable resource for hand-styled sign lettering has some wonderful new fonts. And one of those is Hastings Gold by John Studden. Inspired by packaging from the 1800′s of Hastings & Co, a gold leaf manufacturer. It amazes me how talented typeface developers can be, they are able to develop an entire font out of one line…Unbelievable! It’s a shame that I could not locate any information or history about the Philadelphia company, but the font is beautiful and a major accomplishment for John who says the following: When asked what his favorite type of work is, he predictably replies “I enjoy the old period style gold leaf work the most. Sometimes I…

Macaroon Mania

I don’t know what it is about little desserts lately, but I can’t resist this book. I’ve been dying to make Macaroons since getting my Baking Handbook by Martha Stewart for Christmas. Maybe I’ll be a bit productive some time this week and whip some up. These little beauties are by pastry chef Pierre Herme but I can’t seem to find that book above anywhere and look at that packaging! Gasp! So adorable. The image above was found on one of my newest finds, the blog (I can’t remember! But I’ll find it and post it soon.) Cannelle et Vanille! Beautiful photos and great recipes!

Est

This packaging is just gorgeous and thanks to Daily Candy for their consistent emails or else I may have never known about this product. Est is an environmentally-friendly natural soap made in Brazil and are known for their ultra-hydrating effects that leave your skin touchably soft. Can anyone give me a hint as to who designed the packaging? Anyone? Was it an in-house job? Google was no help in finding any information on the designer responsible but if you want a bar of your very own, LAMA is the sole distributor of the fine looking product. And soap bars is not their only product.
