Zara Carpenter
I fucking love these, yes I said that. I can’t find any other ways to express myself rather than that previous statement. Zara Carpenter is from England and is a poet and artist who’s work draws inspiration from the likes of Lewis Carroll and Oscar Wilde in her Etsy shop Chatham Girl. I was blown away when I saw her items featured on the Etsy home page as Featured Seller, read her interview. “I make hats out of the crazy things I find on my daily travels and making hats is what makes me happy.” “Being creative is a way for me to escape pain and illness. Even on the days I can’t walk at…
Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry
Hori Smoku is a documentary featuring the life and work of Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins. Obsessed with is works, yet I don’t have any of his style tattoos. I think it’s soon time to remedy that.
mkt4
Love these (inspirational?) posters from MKT4 which I saw on Behance. Super cute characters sending great messages. Make sure you visit the Goodies section of the website and download the image below for your desktop, I did!
Post Mortem Gallery
I am not one for obsessing over the after life, but if you walk into the Post Mortem Gallery – in New Hope, PA – you are sure to be as bewitched as I was. I’ve inserted a gallery at the bottom of the post, so don’t miss all the great items that I got to see in person! The most interesting to me in that shop, was the mourning art (or Art Memento Mori). The owner of the shop was nice enough to engage in some conversation and directed me towards the pieces on the wall. Have you ever heard/seen these? I have not. Using a loved one’s (those who have passed away) hair…
Vintage Maps
I decided to take a very imprompu trip to an antiques store today, and came across these maps for a second time. This time I had to get them. The smaller maps have a lovely black/aqua/orange color palette and the large one was printed in 1936 and is in fabulous condition. Most of them are of Canada but I also bought one of New York with a great illustrated map (upper right on the last photo), but I have no clue when it was printed. I’m not sure what I will exactly do with them yet, but I have a few inklings.
For the Love of Color
Seriously?! I love color, and this just blew me away – and not because it’s groundbreaking or anything crazy, but because it’s simple and lovely. For the Love of Color, is just that. Just add to your RSS feed and enjoy. Awesome. via @designvagabond
Upon a Fold
I love paper, and this new site is inspiring to say the least! Upon a Fold is the child of Justine & Matt showcasing from finding or creating unique paper products. Whenever I come across a beautiful object made of paper I wish I had a place to put it on show for all to see and enjoy. So, ta-da, here it is… Upon a Fold. I mean, seriously. My heart skipped a beat when I saw all of these fun little items and the little girl in my head said “but I want to make and sell fun little paper things too!”. And I do make them, but I don’t sell them (yet.) and…
Le Creativ Sweatshop
I am nearly speechless because of these window displays by Le Creativ Sweatshop in Palerma. Made of paper from the Curious Collection. And if you want a paper-induced goodness seizure, visit Le Creative Sweatshop’s website. Via @storewindows
Color Palettes
Where does inspiration come from? Anywhere, from anything, or by anyone. I received an email from Esprit this morning and these shirts made me think, what a great color palette these would make for stationery. And Whoo-la, here they are! And unfortunately I can’t directly link to these shirts due to the way their site is setup (bad thing!)
Journaling
I am obssessed with Snap & Tumble’s Flickr Collection called Journaling. I think I’m going to start a random journal with just anything I want to put into it. Sounds good, right?
