I’m starting to think that Courtney and I are long lost souls (of design). Her posts at Design Work Life and Head vs. Heart hit me hard every time. Today, she posted about Ryan Feerer’s work for weddings and I was just blown away. Beautiful, hand drawn, great layouts.

Well my part of the Sketchbook Project 2011 has ended. I did as much as I could before shipping it off to the lovely folks at Art House and have to admit, I had fun! Here’s what came out of my little brain with a pencil and an arsenal of markers and pens:

I really get way too excited when I stumble upon a designer/illustrator from my home state. Pennsylvania is the place to be, and Lydia Nichols‘ work is just fantastic. Originally from Pennsylvania, Lydia now lives in New York but continues to infuse her work with inspiration from her home state. I especially love the Pennsylvania Wedding invitation she created, at bottom.
