Same Sex Wedding Inspiration
So I’ve been working on a collection of invites, or something to that extent. And it came to me that I should create custom-illustrated wedding invites for a same sex couple. And it just so happened that right around the same time, Martha Stewart Weddings featured a same-sex couple wedding in their 15-year anniversary issue. Love Is In The Air
With Valentine’s Day less than one month away I came up with a cute little idea for a paper airplane with a trail of hearts. It was made for my husband but that is in addition to a much better gift which I will be posting about the process later on this week. I put these up for sale in my Etsy shop if you would like on of your very own. I will even hand-write a special message on the inside of the plane if you’d like.
Paper Quilling
While paper quilling as an art is not new, it’s being used in new ways by designers and artists. I found two great examples of them online. But let’s get a bit familiar with quilling or paper filigree. The art of quilling began during the Renaissance, when French and Italian nuns and monks used the unique paper art to decorate book covers and religious items. I am quite surprised that I have not posted about Emersonmade but I am at this very moment! Shadow Puppets
I found these adorable laser-cut shadow puppets by Isabellas Art while browsing on Etsy last night (from the Gotta Etsy app on my iPhone) and immediately fell in love. My 6-year old and I made some a year ago, simple ones such as dinosaurs, fish, and sharks and we had a blast. It’s amazing how much fun you can have with a flashlight, construction paper, and wooden skewers.

The work of Rifle Paper Co. has been making the rounds on all of the blogs, but I couldn’t resist posting some of their work either. Letterpress Made Simple or Diminished?
The craft of letterpress has a long history and has gained popularity as it’s equipment has been hard to find and creates a quality like no other for printing projects. Recently a company called Lifestyle Crafts has released the L Letterpress Combo Kit that allows anyone to have a letterpress-effect on stationery. I saw it with my own eyes in AC Moore yesterday which led to this post, the effect looks nice but what about the letterpress industry? The Silver Lining
