Stationery Outstanding
I just stumbled across the stationery system from Monahan & Rhee for Nicholaeff Architecture & Design on their website and I was blown away. The new york-based company has created an outstanding stationery package for Nicholaeff and deserves any accolades that they can collect on these pieces. Extraordinary. Just look at that stationery, who wouldn’t be proud to hand out that business card or to mail that stationery. Just beautiful!
Swede Interiors
How swede are these interiors? Love, love them. I adore the open kitchens, and when my husband I remodel our home, this is what I’m going to model it after. Kvanum is a swedish design company focusing on kitchen and storage solutions for the home. Two men, now the owners of Kvanum are the grandchildren of Gustav Johansson who built his first kitchen in 1923. They learned that not only should a kitchen look good, but it should function as an effective workplace and exude quality. When browsing their website you realize the crafstmanship, the quality and the years of experience that this company puts into it’s work. They guarantee that your new kitchen “will…
Vitsoe
I’m in love with another furniture company. Vitsoe has 50 years of experience in the furniture industry and from the looks of it, many other stores (*ahem, I won’t mention them by name) have knocked off the designs. The incredible products were designed by Dieter Rams, who was discovered in post-war Germany by Niels Wiese Vitsoe. The Vitsoe website has a wealth of information and images on it’s products and I hope to be able to put some of the shelves into my home one day. Gorgeous! First seen on Christy’s Modern Links.
Condesa DF
A lovely looking hotel in Mexico, called Condesa DF. Just take a look at the photos below. The Top Suite at Condesa, available for VIP parties. The Restaurant at Condesa DF, love that wood. The Cinema at Condesa DF, looks like a good place to snuggle with a significant other. Bath Room at Condesa DF, love the combination of the white and dark wood. Very romantic-modern. Another image from the Top Suite at Condesa DF. Gorgeous! The rates for accommodations aren’t bad!!! Take advantage of this one! So who’s to take credit for such a lovely hotel? India Mahdavi is responsible for the interiors and Javier Sanchez is to blame (in a good way) for…

ENORMOUS type
If I lived in a huge loft or studio-like apartment, I would want one of these. And even though I have many huge walls in my home, I just don’t know if it would have the same feel. But the fantastic David at oddhero has huge prints up to 44″ x 58″ for $750 and 33.3″ x 44″ for $400. Below is my choice titled Aachen Bold, love it! I first saw this on the Design*Sponge blog and below is another wonderful post from Grace on the new kithaus from DWR installed in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I love those vintage road signs, my antique radar will be dialed in for a set of those. So cool!
Your own private island
A nice link to private residences on islands. The article is titled and rightly so 5 Insanely Small Inhabited Private Islands. One of them is in Canada near where I’ll be vacationing next week, hopefully I’ll bring back a photo of it to share! Yippee!
All New Kitchen
I love, love, love this kitchen from ALNO called the ALNO Plan in their Home collection. It’s simple, it’s modern and it looks like home. Yum. I love the floor tiles to the blackboard wall and on. And I don’t think I need to say why I like this handsome devil below, natural cherry … enough said. Meet the ALNO Line Pro from the Lifestyle collection.
A Real Opportunity
I have mixed feelings about this. First, I love reality shows and have been waiting for our design field to be brought before the public eye. But on the other hand, didn’t Philippe Starck just disown the design industry recently in a talk? Now he’s giving you (or someone else) the chance to become the next great British designer. BBC Two and Mr. Starck are teaming up for a brand new TV series to find the next great British designer. The catch? You have to live in the UK. Sorry folks, no U.S. applicants. So what are they looking for? You have to convince them that your designs can change the way we live, for…
