Koi Invitations
When this client emailed me, my response was “You had me at koi.” Kelly and Joseph liked the tattoo invitations that I can create, but they wanted a set that revolved around koi fish. Wouldn’t you say yes too?! I was so pleased with the results and this time, and I was able to use a gray as the stock color rather than white.
Yi-Hsin Tzeng
I don’t even know where to start with this particular artist to be honest. At first I was curious, then confused, and now find it riveting. Something about the work of Yi-Hsin Tzeng has me hooked and now you must go look too. Yi-Hsin Tzeng defaces selected image from magazines, and then publishes and sells them every two months. And even more mesmerizing is the foam work in pop-art pieces and performance art.
Flour Pot Bakery
What a beautiful idea. Sara Nicely created a hand-drawn menu (inspired by the wiry Christmas lights arranged in the dining area) on a baguette carry-out bag so that customers could carry the menu home. Although, what happens when the menu changes?! All new bags? I also like the fetching Nathan’s Famous annual report:
The Finishing School
Amazing craft and design by Sophie Williams for a stationery brand created using end-of-line sketchbooks as writing paper, and envelopes from the pages of donated books from the National History Museum. ‘The Finishing School’ was devised as my stationary brand with a conscious focus of reusing paper and other materials already in circulation.
Guimarães JAZZ
Many great projects for the Jazz community. But I really loved the limited color palette and hand-lettering on this. In awe. View the other pieces in the campaign.
Chopsticks
Harmonious Chopsticks. Now these are some amazing looking chopsticks. I have no idea where to buy them, or how much they cost. But ooh are they pretty!!! Via
Lunch League
To be honest, I have no idea what Lunch League is. But Tim Lahan‘s graphics make it look interesting. Table SALT-ernative … lol! Update! Check out the Lunch League in all of it’s awesomeness.
Harvest
Harumaki and Hirosher began as jewelry designers in 2003. Influenced by skateboarding, the unit began creating accessories and art works using old and unused skateboard decks. Can you believe these amazing pieces are created using old skate decks? Love them to pieces. As a skater, I want to take responsibility of reusing skateboards when they were no longer useable. Also, as an artist I want to explore the possibilities of what can be done with skateboards. Via
Hand Stamp
I found these numerical stamps on Etsy in the store of Primele. What a great gift for someone, or to use on invites. I love the zip code idea.
Man Day
On 8/8/09, Atlanta’s Ink & Dagger Tattoo hosted a celebration like no other. This video will give you a taste of the madness that transpired… Ink & Dagger Tattoo Parlour in Atlanta holds Man Day, (yes, it has it’s own website) an event filled with events and manly fare. Events include Bobbing for Lobsters, a Wing Eating Contest, Sideshow Acts, Custom Car Show, and lots more. I wanna go!!!
