Amazing Animals
Tim Flach captures some amazing images of animals. I don’t think the images of the animals could get any more beautiful. Visit his site to see even better images, you will want to see them. Believe me. Via
Prologue Epilogue
Love these pieces made by Etsian restlessthings.
Knot Practical
Swayspace created this gorgeous and fun letterpress booklet/poster of knots. The New Camper’s Journal is a limited edition and only available at the Alite pop-up store at Eastern Mountain Sports in New York. I knew I should have escaped to New York when I had the chance, I’m missing out on all the cool swag. (Pouts in child-like fashion and stomps away) If you live in New York and send me one, I will be eternally grateful.
Eric Smith of I Draw All Day
Meet Eric Smith, the man behind I Draw All Day. I wish I knew what exactly to call his style, is it illustrative?! Is it modern?! I’m not sure, but all I know is that I’m fascinated! I’ve been turned on by illustration more and more as my career progresses – and who knows – perhaps it’s just a phase I’m going through. But I love it, it’s like I’m putting a piece of me into the work rather than a font or a stock image. And when you mix illustration with digital fonts, something magical happens. His work is outstanding and makes me want to keep on keepin’ on.
Sea Legs
I would have loved to have seen “Sea Legs” A Collaborative Journey of Jolby & Ashley Forrette, but it ended on March 20 and was in Portland, Oregon. So the odds were against me anyway. But the images, the artwork, the lettering … sigh … so wonderful. SO much more to see on the website, take a gander.
Xavi Garcia
Wowie! Xavi Garcia has a real obsession with currency, which is okay because it’s a beautiful obsession. I browsed through his site EquisGarcia, and he really has a beautiful way of incorporating currency-inspired type and art into his work. The most interesting was his sketchbook, oh how I love to see the sketchbooks of artists/designers. It’s like a window into their creative world! Via
Aw… SNAP!
Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction empowers artists producing quality work marked by fine craft and intellectual rigor. “Since 2006, Art In The Age of Mechanical Reproduction has existed as a vehicle through which modern thinkers marry reverence for enlightened ideals with the mandate to reach more minds in an ever-fickle urban scene. Our community of free thinkers and artistic innovators delivers inspiration and aspiration back to The People.” Well they are about to introduce SNAP, an 80 proof liquor based on the Pennsylvania Dutch recipe for ‘Lebkuchen’, or ginger snap. They offer a behind-the-scenes preview on their site and are launching this new spirit later this summer.
Zara Carpenter
I fucking love these, yes I said that. I can’t find any other ways to express myself rather than that previous statement. Zara Carpenter is from England and is a poet and artist who’s work draws inspiration from the likes of Lewis Carroll and Oscar Wilde in her Etsy shop Chatham Girl. I was blown away when I saw her items featured on the Etsy home page as Featured Seller, read her interview. “I make hats out of the crazy things I find on my daily travels and making hats is what makes me happy.” “Being creative is a way for me to escape pain and illness. Even on the days I can’t walk at…
