Roasted Bliss
This is just the most adorable little coffee bean. Created by the user Super Furry on Flickr. One of my favorite past times is looking at my Flickr contacts, so many interesting things going on! 0
Tattoo Announcements
Last year I created tattoo-themed engagement announcements for a unique couple using their personal tattoos. I went through a few rounds of drawings until I got it just right but wasn’t sure what to do with them after the project was complete. Throw them away? No way. So what a better way to put them to use than to post them here on my blog? I like sharing my process more and more, so here’s some eye candy for you folks who appreciate the process. My son was having fun working with me, so he colored the one above at the right. Not too bad. The cards shown above are what was printed. I’ll try…
Brooklyn Slate Company
I found this lovely while looking at a WordPress gallery. The Brooklyn Slate Company is the work of two Brooklynites who are obssessed with food which then turned into their slate product company. They produce and package their slate products by hand in their studio, located in (you guessed it) Brooklyn. Isn’t it amazing how simple and attractive packaging can be? “Envelopes and other materials are printed by hand, and burlap bags are hand sewn too. Every single piece of packaging that comes with our products can be repurposed for other uses.” 0
Holy F—
Not my typical post, but man is this too good to pass up. My husband once made up a drink at the bar and called it “Holy What the F—”, because that’s what comes out of your mouth after you drink it. The poster is a collaboration between Justin David Cox and Cody Haltom, both of Public School. 0
Gemini Studio Art
Really love the illustration work and added type to the etsy store of Stephen Fowler. Gemini Studio Art creates original, handmade pieces from his illustrations. I picked my favorite style, but he has many more to offer. 0
Cristina Londoño
Thank you Colombia. Cristina Londoño is a graphic designer operating as Wallnut Studio in Colombia. Amazing work that unifies a brand and uses color in a good way. View much more on the Wallnut Studio website. 0
Mok Duk
A completely illustrated wedding invitation, um … yes, please! Gorgeous and fun work by Anne Benjamin for Mok Duk. *Bonus: A sketch in progress for an announcement that she’s working on. Fabulous! 0
Katie Daisy
Wow. The quality of work coming from recent graduates is overwhelmingly good. I saw a link to the work of Katie Daisy and her type work is not only colorful, but delivers a message with her great style, and her illustration is just phenomenal. She also has patterns on her portfolio which aren’t to be missed either. Pssst… she has an Etsy shop, visit her at The Wheatfield. 0
Graham Robinson
Found the work of the very-talented Graham Robinson an artist from Ontario, Canada. Most of his work is acrylic on canvas and I just adore his style. 0
Tina Dolin
Facebook has it’s advantages, one being that I discovered Tina Dolin Photography thanks to a friend. I immediately became a fan after viewing her work. And best of all? She’s local! Her style is elevated in comparison to many of the photographers in my town and she really has an eye for composition when it comes to her images. I’m a huge fan of photojournalism and the most natural looking shots which you can see in each of her images. Not a single image looks overly-posed or staged. 0
