Rifle Paper Co.

The work of Rifle Paper Co. has been making the rounds on all of the blogs, but I couldn’t resist posting some of their work either. All work features the design and illustration of Ana Bond, an Orlando resident originally from the NJ/NY area. And I am totally envious of her studio soon opening, see below.

The Society of Design

Just found this gem and it’s in my area, hooray! The Society of Design is a non-profit dedicated to design education and community service. They are located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and have a great line-up for upcoming events including Pennsylvania-native Chip Kidd, Seattle’s Modern Dog, and this Friday, November 19 visiting will be Design Army founders from Washington DC. The event is being held at the Penn State Harrisburg Campus, for more details visit The Society of Design website. It’s probably best to become a member and they also have a Travel event coming up in April to visit Falling Water and the Warhol Museum. Loving it already.

Damn Rabbit Studios

Thanks to a post on Design*Sponge this morning and some info from my sister, I discovered the work of Sarah Szwajkos also Damn Rabbit Studios. Her images focus on personal spaces, particularly of artists and creative types and each image is a source of inspiration.

Klein Tool Bags

I have been secretly loving the Klein Tool bags and am thinking of putting many of them in my new home office. I especially like the new colorful Large Canvas Stand-Up Zipper Bags, these would be great for kids rooms too! And I really, really want one of these (shown below) Deluxe Leather Bags.

Little Thanksgiving

I am totally obsessed with Chelle Paperie’s Little Thanksgiving invitations! I’ve posted about their work before, but these are gorgeous. I wouldn’t miss this event, would you? 2-ply bookboard flush-mounted between two sheets of pearlescent cardstock, die-cut accompanied by custom linen bags using fabric leftover from their wedding. See the full gallery of images on Flickr.

Letterpress Made Simple or Diminished?

The craft of letterpress has a long history and has gained popularity as it’s equipment has been hard to find and creates a quality like no other for printing projects. Recently a company called Lifestyle Crafts has released the L Letterpress Combo Kit that allows anyone to have a letterpress-effect on stationery. I saw it with my own eyes in AC Moore yesterday which led to this post, the effect looks nice but what about the letterpress industry? While this machine is limited in it’s size, I wonder what effect it will have on the letterpress industry. If you were to purchase a set of letterpress cards from a vendor and found out they used…

Round

Round is a Melbourne based design studio working across a variety of mediums. I can’t believe I have not posted about their work yet. Great stuff!

The Silver Lining

Thanks to a wonderful new blog Scoutie Girl, I found the work of ChezSucreChez on Etsy. I love the embroidered clouds with the silver lining and am thinking of putting one in my new home office.

Andy Smith

I’ve had the illustrations of Andy Smith bookmarked for quite some time and I’m surprised I have not posted about his work before, so here is a few of my favorites. And while his work in illustration is just as amazing, I love his hand-drawn type the most.

J.Crew Gift Guide

This isn’t to actually focus on J. Crew’s The Very Best Gift Guide but more on the presentation of their gift guide that caught my attention. I love the use of paper typography to grab gift-seekers attentions and most recently they’ve been adding some cool products to their offering. I like that they have included outside vendors such as PostalCo and Fjällräven® with the products below and they have a section called Designer Gallery with whom they’ve formed partnerships. Love you J. Crew!
