Vintage Business Cards

I’m not sure when the typical 3.5 x 2 inch size of business cards became the standard but I love the variety that I found yesterday at the antique shop. There are small ones, standard ones, and slightly oversized versions. I love them all and I think they look great as a collection! Oh, and I love the card directly below on the left “Secret Service & Detective Agency”, that’s awesome!

I’m not sure what sort of typeface the Wagner Electric Corporation is set in but that is the reason I picked this one out. That and the limited colors. All of the cards are from nearby in Pennsylvania and most of them have phone numbers of just four or five digits, how easy that must have been – and thank god for that since they had rotary phones back then!
