Letter is Lead
I was lead to this site thanks to the Ministry of Type but unfortunately in this instance the pictures are worth way more than a 1,000 words since I can’t read German. But I must say I love looking through all of the wonderful images over at the blog of Martin Z. Schroeder! And how cute to post photos of children with the letterpress equipment!!!
Wainwright
Wainwright was designed in 1995 by Noel Rubin but I couldn’t resist posting about it. It’s a beautiful typeface and I had some fun type testing it over at Font Shop.
Everything Creative
If you’re like me then you probably love all things creative. I love music, art, design and anything that moves or inspires me. I was happy to hear of a new podcast titled Everything Creative on the Mormon Channel thanks to the North Temple website. I subscribed through iTunes and I’m on my way!
Herb & Dorothy
HERB & DOROTHY Trailer from Herb & Dorothy on Vimeo. You don’t have to be a Rockefeller to collect art. This wonderful story is about Herb & Dorothy, a postal worker and a libararian who have proved that you don’t need to be a millionaire to be an art collector.
Whitelines
Ooh … blank books. I love blank books – endless possibilities, color or no color, scribble, write lists, doodle … who knows?!? Whitelines was created by designer Olof Hansson from Stockholm to fill a need of his own. Take a look and I have no idea how to order them, looks like you need to contact them directly or through a distributor.
Tyler Bender Book Co.
I L-O-V-E these handmade books by Tyler Bender. He takes abandoned books and gives them new purpose by crafting them into something new. His store on Etsy has lots of good ones but I couldn’t help myself but to look through the history of sold items. Wow! Here is what you can do to order your own custom book from Tyler: -Custom handbound notebooks, journals, sketchbooks, artist portfolios, scrapbooks, baby books, wedding registries, cook books, fashion look books, independent music packaging, limited edition publications, zines, etc. Feel free to use your imagination… -Cover and inside materials chosen by the customer may be anything new or used, including but not limited to: souvenir t-shirts, upholstery, wallpaper,…
Ludovic Prigent
Once again I need to thank FFFFOUND! for another interesting designer by the name of Ludovic Prigent. iLK is his little freelance studio located in Paris, France with himself and his cat, Pitou. View much, much more of his work on the website.
Jen Davis Photography
Jen Davis takes honest self-portraits. I love her work and her beauty in the images that she releases. View more on her website.
Commune
Commune is a creative company in Japan with four designers and two bloggers creating astounding work from advertising to identity to packaging. Formed in 2005, Commune has tried to establish itself as a place where professionals from various fields intimately work and communicate with each other, forming a commune. Below is a brief look at their work. I really liked the work created for The Legend of Kung Fu, and the Super Board is even more impressive – but you’ll have to visit their site to see that.
Complexfruit
The work of Bay Area native, Paul Torres under the disguise of Complexfruit is just inspiring. Featuring illustration, hand-lettering and more he has a website filled with work to inspire and make you insane with envy! And hand-lettering goes so well with baked goods doesn’t it? The scripts just make it look all the more yummy!
