I love hunting in antiques stores and this weekend my keen senses helped me to find a wonderful publication on International Advertising Art in German and English. It features grand examples of design in advertising and I could not resist becoming the owner of it. Though it’s mostly in German many of the parts have an English translation with it making it an ideal find. Take a look below at some of the snapshots of it’s pages. Ooooh, you love it to don’t you?
I barely even browsed through it at the store but knew it had to be mine as soon as I picked it up. Once I got home and began leafing through the pages I was most taken with the patters within the first section. (Shown above) Aren’t they gorgeous?
I can’t say I’ve heard of the two men profiled above but it was nice to read about their history in the industry. Even the ads in the rear looked fantastic. So eye-catching! (Shown below)
