Butterflies have taken over Dior’s store in Paris. The Butterflies installation was brought to life by Dior Homme artistic director Kris Van Assche and artist Andrea Mastrovito. Andrea Mastrovito has experience with cut paper and the ornate details in his artwork.

The Fall/Winter 08 collection featured butterlies on everything including butterfly shaped bow-ties (seen above).

Beer Can Butterflies

But I can’t help to recall the Paul Villinski beer can butterflies (shown above) that I fell in love with some time ago. I actually thought of creating my own butterfly installation in my home out of recycled materials but haven’t found the time to try that out yet. Striking similarities, both beautiful. Nature should be used in design much more.
