New Work
I’m working on a new branding project for my upcoming adventure. I’ll give you a hint, it has something to do with weddings. I haven’t decided which version to go with yet and I’m working on the stationery but how cool would business cards be die-cut with this this shape? So cool. And I think I have just the printer to do it.
Questionable Characters
A new website called Questionable Characters features questions by you and answers from Ben Barry and Frank Chimero. Who you ask? Ben and Frank are both graphic designers and illustrators and after receiving many of the same questions via email from aspiring artists they thought it would be good to share the information with you, the general public. Some address inspiration, some are completely silly. What was my question? Mashed potatoes or stuffing? I’ll see what their response is.

Be a Hero
Little Hero Capes are from former-Philadelphia native Allison Faunce. Her Little Hero Capes are for the creative child aspiring to soar above the clouds in hopes to save the day. But that’s not the best part, Allison allows you to save the day by donating capes to terminally ill children who are in need of some cheer and distraction in their lives. Each Courage Cape purchased by you will be delivered (FREE of charge) directly to a hospitalized child who participates in the Discovery Arts Program. With your help, we can make sure each of those brave children are given a little more courage to face the day and provide them with a Little Hero…
Typography for Lawyers
A site with a self explanatory title. See for yourself, Typography for Lawyers.
Ace Hotel
Ace Hotel is coming to New York. They currently have locations in Seattle, Palm Springs and Portland but I am most interested in the soon-to-open Ace Hotel in New York since it’s the first on the East Coast and it’s only 2-3 hours away. Unfortunately, the images are scarce on some of the rooms but there’s still time before it opens. Much of the site has ‘Coming Soon’ messages but from what I see it looks promising! Room rates range from $189/per night in the Bunk Bed/Cheap rooms all the way up to $779/per night for The Loft. I would prefer the $239/per night Standard King which has a custom made king-sized bed, a private…
Envelopes
A collection of envelopes photographed by Andrew Bush. No other explanation needed, right? Some nice specimens in there. I love the ones with die-cut flaps.
Dustin Arnold
Outstanding work by Dustin Edward Arnold, a graduate of Art Center College of Design and has a nice client list including Levi Strauss & Co, Nike, Douglas Little Co. and an impressive many more. I am always surprised when I find a fabulous designer like Dustin. I think “Why haven’t I heard of him before?” Great work. Do NOT miss his website, filled with tons of great images of his work.
