Marian Bantjes | Want It campaign

Marian Bantjes was brought in to do the “Want It” campaign for Saks Fifth Avenue and what a beautiful campaign it is. I’m so glad that her work is getting such great exposure. She was brought in by Michael Bierut of Pentagram and then worked directly with Terron Schaefer at Saks to create this eye-candy campaign. I can only imagine how she exceeded their expectations when working on this. I am a huge fan of calligraphy, hand-lettering, typography and you really come to appreciate works of art like this when you’ve tried to accomplish hand-lettering on your own. Marian is a huge influence of mine and I really hope to get to a place in…

armchair weave by moa

I found this armchair weave by MOA on it’s website from the FWA site. After browsing through the site I stumbled upon this chair and it immediately reminded my of a Harry Bertoia chair. If this chair wasn’t somehow inspired by Bertoia, I would be greatly surprised. It really reminds me of the many chairs designed by Harry Bertoia which were produced by Knoll in the 50′s and still to this day. MOA specializes in product design, advanced lighting systems and art. Visit their interactive website featuring a nice spread of their work.

flor | souk chic

Just yesterday I received my FLOR catalog. After paging through 50 + pages filled with their amazing tiles, the most interesting of their new additions was on the back cover. The Souk Chic patterns are just lovely! When I get my new home I will be putting in this rug in my bedroom. My mom recently gave me a handmade quilt (made by her) for my bridal shower and it features a variety of blue squares to make up one of the most beautiful quilts I’ve ever seen (photo below) and the Blue Souk Chic rug will compliment this in the best way. I can see it now, the blue quilt on the edge of…

seller of the day | julianna holowka

I love this lamp and other products from seller julih32 on her Etsy shop. Julianna currently lives in Philadelphia, and was born and raised in the Detroit area. She studied design in Philadelphia, worked with a theater in Chicago and then came back to Philadelphia where she is: “Now spending each day making lamps, drawing testicles on stick-figures, and satisfying the urge to make pretty things.” Her Chaos lamp, seen above is what attracted me to her shop and then I fell in love with her 20×20 inch wool pillows. That lamp looks so cute aimlessly placed in the middle of the hardwood floor, I love it. Julianna is also the creator of Mean Cards…
