product of the day | Numbers Clock
Who could ask for anything more when registered at Crate & Barrel? I have received an endless amount of boxes and gift cards from Crate & Barrel since my bridal shower and am clueless on how to spend those precious gift cards. Should I buy something off of my registry or wait, should I put it towards a purchase of furniture? Or should I be a bad girl and look in the What’s New section? I decided to casually browse through the What’s New section of the Crate & Barrel website and saw the oh-so new Numbers Clock. It’s a unique design and it’s a decent price for something so hip. Where to buy: Crate…

paper mojo | marbled papers
When I was younger my mom used to cart me around with her to crafts shows where she would set up a stand and sell her homemade crafts. One of my favorite craft shows was the Hay Creek Festival, an annual festival at the historic Joanna Furnace where hundreds of volunteers demonstrate early American life from food to crafts and shows. From the homemade candy (delicious!) to the drilling of a tree to be made into a well (the smell was that of fresh paper) to the hand made marbled paper. Currently this demonstration is performed by Barbara Weiler and Jeb Bland, so in all honesty I have no idea if these are the same…
wedding invitation | diane
Here is my wedding invitation. With much hard work and help from my ever-so patient fiance, they were designed, printed and mailed without any blood-shed. (Except for perhaps a papercut or two). The colors reflect the palette chosen for our wedding and feature the lovely font (exclusively on Veer), Affair. The paper was purchased from Paper-Source, my favorite online seller of paper goods. The liner paper for the envelopes was purchased from Paper Mojo to coordinate with my color selection. Our efforts did not go unnoticed, a few couples have asked us to design invitations for their upcoming weddings. I’m so thrilled to do this and can’t wait to being the process! Perhaps this will…

the Swiss Poster
I am a huge fan of Swiss design and it’s a major influence on design culture and much of my own work. The poster designed by Januzzi Smith, a cross-media design consultancy based in London, features some of the more influential posters of Swiss graphic design used as illustrations throughout the book, Swiss Graphic Design: The Origins and Growth of an International Style, 1920-1965 by Richard Hollis. Want a hi-res PDF of the poster to print out at home? Download it here. Found on Design Observer. [MB] Original post on Swiss Legacy blog by Xavier Encinas.
