The Brownstone Bride
Beautiful and sad. The Brownstone Bride who was found resting in a Brownstone ledge above a doorway was apparently engaged, bi-polar and unwilling to take her medicine. Many onlookers were enchanted by the sight of the sleeping bride almost as if Sleeping Beauty had been misplaced out of the forest and on to Fourth Street of New York. A beautiful sight but a sad story. Apparently the bride-to-be (when is not know for certain) was asleep on the ledge until she was taken down by police officers and they tried to take away a teddy bear pouch holding a little blue ring box, which was under her head. It wasn’t until that moment that she…
Little People, a tiny street art project in London
Little hand-painted people, left in London to fend for themselves. I wonder what happens to them? Above is the work titled Urban Camping. I can’t find much information on the artist except for that he is English, Male, 27 years old, and is a Scorpio. You can buy prints of some of his work here. So fun, cute and real.
Featured Online Seller | Rare Device
I love unique products and even more, I like buying unique products. In less than two months I will be walking down the aisle and to show my appreciation to my hard-working bridesmaids it has been quite the task to find unique gifts for them from a unique bride-to-be. Today while browsing Design*Sponge, I rediscovered Rare Device. Rare Device is an online store with a variety of unique products dying to be discovered, such as the Bubble Roome Soap. Not only am I fascinated by the packaging (which I adore) but the scents available and the price are killer! I can get a different scent, one for each of my bridesmaids and I am certain…
product of the day | Portable Lamp, Luau
With a runtime of 6–10 hours and a brightness of 50 watts, this polycarbonate, rechargeable, dimmable LED lightsource is one of the hottest products I’ve seen in a long time. The Luau available at vessel.com turns tabletop lighting into a portable product that is useful just as much indoors as it is outdoors. It has a charging pod with a bi-color status indicator and if your luau is running low you can dim it to conserve the charge. This sleek looking lamp comes at a price of $249. If this is too salty for you check out the candela lights at $89.00 and are equally as cool!
Meet HyWind
Imagine if it were possible to have an 80 meter tall turbine that would float out in the open waters in order to bring energy on to the shores. Hywind has several advantages such as the ability to be positioned out at sea, reduced visual impact and increased power production due to the amount of wind. This is not yet a reality but hopefully someone can make this happen. Read more here. View a video here or here. (Linked article is in Italian)
